After earning rave reviews for 12th Fail, Vikrant Massey was the talk of the nation last year. In a new interview with Indian Express, the actor claimed he had always ‘aspired’ to get the National Award from the President as an actor. ‘Jaadu Teri Nazar’ would have been denounced by today’s “borderline woke generation,” argues Vikrant Massey.
In the interview, Vikrant stated, “It feels very surreal, honestly. I would be lying if I said I never wanted this. I’ve always wanted to stand at Rashtrapati Bhawan and be honored by the president. This dream remains unrealized.”
He added, “I love the online support and chatter. People support me. However, as said… It feels strange. What can I say now?
The real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi inspired Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail. Following Anurag Pathak’s novel, Vikrant plays Chambal’s young Manoj, who wants to join the police. Filmfare awarded Vikrant Best Actor (Critics) for his performance. Medha Shankar plays Shraddha Joshi. Additionally, it was a commercial triumph in India, collecting ₹69 crore.
Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is coming from Vikrant. Kanika Dhillon wrote and Jayprad Desai directed the sequel. It also stars Taapsee Pannu and Sunny Kaushal in key parts. Netflix will premiere the film on August 9.
