Kangana Ranaut commented on South Indian films outperforming Bollywood films at the box office. The actor believes many Hindi films have become “disconnected” from reality, which explains this discrepancy.
Kangana was asked at Agenda Aaj Tak about Allu Arjun’s Pushpa franchise’s success and how it compares to Bollywood’s current business climate.
Kangana said, “In my opinion, Bollywood or Hindi cinema is not mainstream. No way are they mainstream. Our films should define the Indian film industry, which targets all audiences.”
Kangana explained Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 success by emphasizing his daily wage earner role.
Bollywood residents live in a bubble, she said. That’s one of my main issues with them. They don’t want to leave the bubble. Only gym, protein shakes, and injections are needed. Nothing connects them to reality.”
No Bollywood actor would have accepted Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 role, Kangana said.
They want six-pack abs, a hot babe, a beach, a bike, and item numbers. Enough for them). Reality checks are crucial, she said.
